Pictured are Mr. Dan Duckwall, State Board Member and President of the Tulsa Chapter,

Under Dan’s leadership in 2006, the Tulsa Chapter (the oldest chapter in the state):

Had the most financially successful banquet in chapter history winning the “Most Improved Chapter in the State” award.
Hosted a Wheelin’ Sportsmen NWTF 3-D Archery Shoot
Sponsored the Youth Bowfishing Championship
Provided disabled individuals with numerous deer hunts in popular Osage County
Provided youth turkey hunts in at least 3 counties
Matched funds with other Chapters in providing frozen turkeys for needy families
Worked the Firefighters Burn Camp for children injured in fires.
Had a booth at the Whitetail Classic Outdoor Show promoting NWTF
Worked the promotional booth for the Broken Arrow Bass Pro using the earnings to host Wheelin’ Sportsmen and Youth events
Hosted a dove hunt for disabled sportsmen and women

For the first time anyone can remember when the presentation of his award was made at the Tulsa Chapter Banquet, Dan was so caught off guard he was speechless!!!

After recovering from the shock, Dan was the first to acknowledge the tremendous effort and dedication of a group of volunteers that came together, formed a solid team, and then put their shoulders to the NWTF tasks at hand. Consistent with past winners, Dan pointed out the Volunteer of the Year award doesn’t really go to an individual, it goes to everyone on the Team!

Congratulations, Dan!
